Bologna food tour

I'll start from the end: I agree, and I'll add that you should take a food tour no matter how many days you're there.

Since I didn't arrive in time for a guided tour, I took the Bologna food tour box - It's a self-guided tour that combines the city's attractions with carefully selected food stops chosen by the tour company.

You can do the tour in one day or more; once you have the food box, the choice is yours.

Each location has its voucher with a QR code that opens a Google Map. I found it easier to type the location name into the Maps app. Most food places are open until the evening, and some even until nighttime, it's all written down.

There is the option for vegetarian or vegan food, you need to request beforehand, and at each place, they have an alternative.

The tour is built around recommended stops at the city's sites, and there's an audio guide with an explanation of the site you choose to visit, from the link you'll receive.

It's all very easy to operate, and you'll need the following:
A fully charged phone connected to an internet supplier
Google Maps
A camera
An empty stomach / big appetite

The food on the tour is local Italian. You can see in the pictures the size of the portions, it's very generous at each stop and even though I had two more stops, I couldn't eat anything else, yes, yes, not even ice cream which is my favorite food (unfortunately I didn't have time to wait but I'll be back!) I recommend not finishing the dish, you can ask to take it with you (of course it's better if it's fresh), or space the stops as much as possible so you'll be hungry between them.

What did I eat?
Mortadella - a famous local dish based on meatballs.
Tigella - a kind of pita-shaped pastry with a meat or vegetarian filling.
Cassoni - a pastry that originated in Rimini, similar to calzone, the dough is not thick with a vegetarian filling.
A plate of cold cuts - a selection of fresh and fine cold cuts with a glass of wine of your choice, vegetarians get a cheese plate.
Coffee and a cookie - an amazing espresso (you can choose another coffee for an extra charge) with a sweet cookie, to choose from at the place.

As I mentioned, I didn't use the remaining two vouchers, one for a cookie and the other for ice cream."

The center of Bologna is not big and it's round. From one point of the circle to the opposite point, it's about a half-hour walk.
The tour duration depends on you and how much time you will dedicate to the sites and to eating time.
My estimate is between three and six hours, without entering the sites themselves.

The advantages of the tour are:
A wonderful selection of places and excellent locations for delicious local food.
You can choose the time and spread it over several days.
There are explanations about the main attractions.
For those who like to travel alone, it's perfect.
The tour company also has guided tours throughout the city, whether historical or culinary, now you have to choose what suits you.
Enjoy!"
