Amalfi Coast - Italy

There is no doubt that it was one of my most wonderful days when I was in Naples.
The night before I decided I had to go there because everyone was talking about this place!
I did a test between a tourist bus and joining a private car that takes up to 3 people and I am so happy with my choice and I will explain here why and what is worthwhile for me.

It is important to say that I was in southern Italy at the end of September, an excellent time to travel both in terms of the weather and in terms of the crowding that exists in July and August.

The whole trip was smooth and without traffic jams, something that happens a lot in the summer months.

There are several options for traveling to the Amalfi Coast:

Before I start talking about the travel options, I'll tell you about the road there - the road is long and narrow, mostly with one track in each direction, so if you miss a stop, there's no way to get back to the point you missed, except if you get off the road and to get back, you'll waste a few hours.

The stopping points are very specific and are located in places that are very difficult to understand so it is worth stopping at, only skilled drivers who do this road regularly will know them.

The view on the way is breathtaking, therefore, to enjoy the way, it is recommended to sit on the right.

Transportation options on the Amalfi Coast:
Private car
- on your own time and according to your plan.
It is recommended to prepare in advance all the stopping points between the different cities.
You should also check which day you can travel because there are restrictions that vary according to the month in which you travel.
You have to take into account the very difficult and challenging issue of parking in any city, you should book parking in advance and take into account that the costs are high.

Bus (public transport) - bus lines travel along the Amalfi Coast.

From my knowledge, it is hard to trust their arrival or punctuality.
In addition, if the bus is full of passengers, it does not pick up additional passengers and you may be left waiting at the station for the next bus, hoping you will have a place to sit.

On a bus like this, there is no possibility of choosing a seat and you have to consider that to enjoy the road, you have to sit on the right.

Tourist bus - the convenience of a tourist bus is to get from place to place without worrying about parking and to see all the desired places.
At the same time, here too it is important to sit on the right side so that you can enjoy the views on the way.
There is of course also a time limit at each stop and the number of places where you stop is relatively few.
The price is low compared to the other options.
It is recommended to go through the description of the trip and make sure that you stop at places and not just pass through.

A private car tour with a driver - this is the way I chose and despite the slightly high cost, it was worth every penny.
I joined the tour through a well-known site and there was another tourist in the car with me.
Happily, we got along great and even had lunch together.
The driver told us a little about the places on the way, answered questions, and was attentive to everything we asked for.
He took care of all the parking in advance and everything went smoothly.
Every stop we made was accurate, the driver took us at the beginning of the trip to a small cafe with a particularly delicious homemade pastry and the results can be seen in the photos.

There is no doubt that in light of my experience and following what I read online, a tour along the Amalfi coast is the most recommended with a private driver, enjoy!
